Poll Merino fetches a top of $6750 at Trigger Vale

BUYERS seeking rams with money-making estimated breeding values shelled out a top of $6750 at Trigger Vale Polls and White Suffolk stud. A total of 105 from 110 Polls sold and 65 from 66 White Suffolks were snapped up at auction. The Poll rams averaged $1963 and the White Suffolks averaged $860.

Stud principals Andrew and Mandi Bouffler, Lockhart said they were pleased with the success of their sale. Mr Bouffler said the result was boosted by repeat buyers who were seeking rams carryng commercial traits. “While we had a handful of new clients the strength of the sale was driven by long-term clients,” Mr Bouffler said. Repeat buyer Bill Luff from Coolac secured the top-priced ram which had excellent EBVs.
