Trigger Vale Poll Merino & WS Inspection/Open Day

August 23, 2023 @ 10:00 am 4:00 pm AEST

While Covid travel restrictions and the movement towards remote Auction Plus bidding at our annual sale was the reason behind our initial inspection day in 2019 the extremely positive feedback from clients has resulted in it becoming an ongoing feature of our ram selling program. With ram numbers at our sale increasing dramatically over the past 5 years to keep up with demand the reality is that it is becoming difficult for clients to make their selections on sale day. Our team is also aware that we are spread very thin with clients on sale day and the inspection day allows access to discuss in depth our breeding program or the merits of individual rams.

The inclusion of an inspection day of the Trigger Vale ram sale calendar has come at the expense of our biannual information day which have been so well attended over the past 20 years. Trigger Vale will hold an “Hour of Power” info session starting at 2pm with Scott Hannaford, the Territory Sales Manager for Coopers Animal Health and Allflex Tags speaking about their game changing oral lice control product. Scott will also have a selection of Allflex electronic tags and associated hardware on display to help producers start to get their head around the soon to be compulsory electronic tag legislation for selling sheep in NSW. Followed by Elise Bowen “Getting ready for EIDs” the CEO of Sheep Data Management will be speaking at an introductory level regarding electronic (EID) tags. The reality is as sheep producers, the legislation is in place and it will be compulsory to use EID’s in all sheep going to sale as part of the NLIS program. This will come at a cost to producers so Elise will touch on how to transition to EID’s and some basic on farm data collection that can be done at a commercial level to get some increased productivity and profit from the change. A light Lunch will be provided.
