STUD sheep from the Trigger Vale Polls and White Suffolks made a top of $4400 three times.

Vendors Andrew and Mandi Bouffler said it was an exceptional result.

Purchasers of the top-priced rams included Kerry and Terry Doig, Lockhart, the Moncrieff Family, West Wyalong and Peter Forbes from Lockhart.

The Trigger Vale Polls averaged $1860 and the White Suffolks averaged $1055.

Mr Bouffler said given the fact the store and wool values were lower than last year the sale result was good.

He said it was encouraging to see the support from repeat buyers along with the purchasing strength from new clients.

“It’s very pleasing to see the client base expanding with new clients from West Wylong, Stawell, and Mansfield,” he said.

“There is no doubt that as commercial producers are becoming more aware of the importance of growth, muscle and fat in their Merino’s c that people are looking to Trigger Vale Poll genetics to improve these genetic aspects of their flocks,” he said.

Trigger Vale Poll Merinos sell to $4400

The demand for Performance-tested genetics was highlighted at the 35^th annual Trigger vale Poll Merino and White Suffolk ram sale last Friday where bidding reached $4400 four times.

Vendors Andrew & Mandi Bouffler offered 110 Poll Merino rams with 98 sold at auction for top price of $4400 (four times) and a sale average of $1867.

They also offered 66 White Suffolk rams(60 flock and six stud rams) which sold for a total clearance and a top price of $1800 (three times) to average $1055.

Straight after the sale another 30 white Suffolk rams were sold out of the paddock for a $700 average.

Buyers who paid the best money – $440 – for Poll rams were Kerry & Terry Doig, Lockhart, The Moncrieff family, West Wyalong, Peter Forbes, Lockhart and Keith, Forbes Lockhart.

Volume buyers were Philip and John Lenehan, Wirrani Past Co., Narranadera, who bought 19 Polls for an average of $1073. Peter Forbes bought eight Poll merinos for an average of $2925. Damian Gooden, Urana, four White Suffolk rams for average of $800 and Barry Gooden, Lockhart, purchased five White Suffolks for an average $880. Tony and Susan Porter, Mangoplah Station, Mangoplah, bought eight Poll Merino s for an average $1625

Stud Principal, Andrew Bouffler, said it was cracking sale and an exceptional result given lamb, store and wool values are all considerable lower than last year and the season in the balance.

There was strong local support at the sale with a spread of new buyers from West Wyalong, and the Victorian districts of Stawell and Mansfield.

The sale was conducted by Wagga Wagga agents H.Francis & Co. and Elders with Ron Rutledge, Joe Wilks and Evan Travis sharing auctioneering duties.
